Love is in the air and we are feeling blissful about these 2014 weddings trends!
Vintage Wedding Décor & Design
Brides are embracing a more traditional, romantic viewpoint that harks back to the weddings of yesteryear. This means a return to dark wood and big chandeliers as well as honoring those who have passed by including family heirlooms in the ceremony and reception. In addition, vintage style is being reflected in cake design with a shift from modern cakes to more romantic, ruffled designs.
Seasonal Family Style
While overall wedding trends seem to be ditching DIY for more elegant accents, family style dining is thriving. Brides want quality food in an approachable setting that encourages interaction between family and friends. In addition, the seasonal food movement is a dining trend that has flowed from restaurants to weddings. Seasonal features offer the freshest ingredients at the time of year when it tastes the best. Who wouldn’t want that?! Check out our seasonal features here.
Late Night Snacks
All the dancing (and cocktails) can work up an appetite even after a delicious meal. Late night snacks provide extra fuel and fun for weddings that go long past sundown. Whether you serve meatball sliders or mini crab cakes, guests will love the surprising added touch and tasty treat.
High Tech Receptions
Old world opulence is gaining popularity again, but you can’t deny the role technology is playing in weddings. Many couples are now creating their own unique hashtag for guests to use on Instagram and Twitter so to easily compile date and photos from different users. Additionally, there are a myriad of wedding centric apps available but one of our favorites is Flock. It’s a photo gathering app that automatically identifies friends in photos using Facebook and creates a folder to share with them.
Bliss List is back! We invite engaged couples to capture their blissful moments by providing a photo and an essay of 250 words or less, listing the top five things they’d like to experience together during their marriage. Who would you like to meet? What faraway places would you both like visit? What skills would you like to develop together?
