A special congrats goes out to Athena H. for winning a Chef's dinner for four by sharing her engagement story - thank you for voting for this deserving couple.
Jon and I had worked together for about a month when he finally worked up enough courage to ask me on a date. I eventually said yes and the following Saturday we went to Maggiano's. We continued to date for the next few months and quickly learned that we were both head over heel's in love with each other. On our 1 year anniversary he surprised me with dinner at the same table we had our first date. This time our conversation was geared more towards our daily lives and how happy we make each other. Fast forward about 2 1/2 years later, Jonathan asked me to dinner on a random Monday just to have a quiet evening. He decided he wanted to walk around the mall first to work up an appetite so we did just that. We arrived at Maggiano's finally after what I felt like was the longest walk in history only to be told we still had to wait to eat. Jon said to me, "let's check out the banquet room, I've never seen how big they are." I said sure so we walked over only to peek through the glass and see that people were inside. Mortified I started backing away when he opened the door to push me inside. Inside was our entire families screaming surprise as he dropped down to one knee and proposed.
